We also appreciate that certain complaints against student organizations have the potential to implicate students directly and attach personal liability or exposure to personal sanctions. Organizational investigations are complex and difficult due to the number of members, actors, and students involved. Defending the interests of students against personal exposure is the number one priority when an executive board, President or other student leader hires us for help. We have also represented alumni boards and housing corporations through investigations, as well as negotiating and partnering with higher ed institutions in creating a real plan for culture change within an organization if necessary.

Successfully navigating a university conduct process on behalf of a responding organization requires experience and strategy in two lanes: first, to properly uphold the rights a student and student organization has when facing an accusation and secondly, to use the conduct process as an opportunity to analyze past behavior and address future best practices or culture change within the organization.
